Featuring a great early Victorian design with wonderful Spoolwork turnings throughout. The wide panel headboard is hand planed & hand chamfered along the edges & topped with a Gothic crest top. Finely detailed finials adorn the ends. You can really see that they are all hand turned with the makers tool marks evident. The finish is a light golden color with wear & antique patina.This Four Poster bed takes a standard 3/4 size mattress/boxspring, as you can see the heavy solid wood bed rails have been retrofitted with heavy duty aluminum boxspring supports. The 3/4 mattress, if you need one, are available from The Original Mattress Factory. ( ) Original Mattress factory sells them for about $399. to $449. for a complete set, depending on the Boxspring height (standard or low profile- 8 inches or 5 inches) & they are of a very high quality! This wonderful antique bed easlily disassembles for transport or shipping. Heavy cast Iron bedrails attatchment brackets are dated Circa 1854. Overall measures 52 inches wide, 81 inches long, 46 inches high Headboard & 43 inches high Footboard. Mattress space is 48 inches by 77 inches long (3/4 size).
