JOHN WYETH & BROS. - DARK AMBER LIQUID EXTRACT MALT BOTTLE , Philadelphia, PA. This mouth-blown bottle is embossed vertically on one side with JOHN WYETH & BRO. / PHILADELPHIA/ LIQ. EXT. MALT. Measures 9" tall, has a tooled oil finish, blown in a cup base mold. There are two distinctive molded rings at the top and base of the neck. There are no chips, cracks or damage to the glass. There is some residue on the surface which appears to be from a label. Bottom is embossed 255M.Advertising stated "Wyeth's Liquid Malt Extract" which is "A pleasant and valuable nutritive tonic" with an alcohol percent of "...less than three percent." John Wyeth & Brothers is a very old concern founded in 1860 and still in business today. The product was advertised as early as the 1870's. This bottle probably dates to1890's.Will ship only within the continental USA.
