RARE ANTIQUE JONES & HOMERSHAM ARCHITECT'S PROPORTIONING RULE BOXWOOD RULER Description RARE ANTIQUE BOXWOOD & BRASS 2 FOOT 2 FOLD LATE VICTORIAN ARCHITECT'S PROPORTIONING RULE BY JONES & HOMERSHAM, CLARENCE ST, LONDON Bevel edges and proportioning scales on a 2 foot 2 fold - rare format Tunnel hinge design Great condition Double inner bevel Brass scale marked joint and steel end caps 6 full proportioning scales A rare example of a delicately made architect's boxwood and brass rule by the equally rare maker, Jones & Homersham of Clarence St, Kingston, London. This carries the features you would normally find on a 4-fold archictect's rule - but in the earlier 2 /2 format. This rule is marked "JONES & HOMERSHAM WARRANTED BEST BOX". The upper measuring surface has a plain Inch scale on the outer edge - sub-divided into 8ths. It also has a 10-inch bevel on each inner edge. It features 3 proportioning scales on each leg - Inch, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 3/8 and 3/16. As usual for rules of this age, there are steel end caps . The reverse carries a similarly plain inch scale - this time sub-divided into 8ths, 10ths, 12ths and 16ths. Condition: Check the supersize pictures for condition. Great for age. One small 1/4 inch notch from the upper measuring surface of one edge. Edges are otherwise smooth and true. Very slight warping leaves read more
