This is a wonderful crewel bedspread that fits a double bed, covering the sides appropriately. I used it on a queen size bed and a skirt below. That is it used in our home in Ohio in the first picture. It was great on a four poster bed. I call it antique. I know it is at least 50 years old and it could be older. The colors are beautiful and are correct for a colonial motif bedroom. It has been cleaned and stored for 10 years. It is from a non smoking home and is ready to use. It is lined on the back with a cotton backing so it is somewhat heavy, could be enough warmth on a spring or summer day. ( See third picture) There are places where the wool crewel work has broken from age. It does not detract from the beauty of the piece. ( see photo 5 ). Great colonial blues and reds. I used it with Williamsburg blue bed hangings.
