. 則光 For auction is this antique Koto Japanese tanto is koshirae. The blade is from 1430-1480 , a pretty good old forge. It's in good old japanese polish with very sharp edge, no rust, pitting, scratches etc., on one side there is one repair done professionaly by the polisher , to stop a lamination opening from further expansion, however it is nothing for such an old blade, it is not over polished, the surface is nice. The hamon is suguha based with good boshi in the tip, the grain is also visible. The deeply patinated tang is unshortened with 2 holes and signed Norimitsu. The blade is housed in authentic Edo koshirae, the saya is black lacquered with small repair spots, the thick iron tsuba is carved with dragon theme, also signed, the tsuka has good old strong ito and rayskin, good menukies and very nice pair of dragon fuchi and kashirawith golden inlay. It is getting pretty hard to find a good Koto tanto especialy that is signed and in koshirae at affordable price, so recommend it, also a great investment.
