ANTIQUE H.L. JUDD CAMEL Egyptian Revival BookendsThe rack is marked “9830” on the interior sides.This is a very nice quality antique late 19th or early 20th century solid bronze set of adjustable camel bookends.It has a low-relief kneeling Bactrian camel on each end. These are hinged to the base and can lie flat when not in use.The camels are cold painted with subtle color and very dimensional detailing.The base is made of three long cylindrical pieces on which books are intended to rest. These expand and contact to the desired length.At its narrowest the bookend set measures 13 inches and at its most fully expanded it is 23 inches wide.Some patina.
