ANTIQUE LACE FRENCH NEEDLEWORK AND WHITEWORK COLLAR This 19th century French whitework designs are sophisticated, and completed covered with fancy embroidery stitches and minute spectacular needle work stitches fill the cut holes. Very close work and a good magnifying glass is required to see the fine detail. The smallest seed stitches I have ever seen. The base fabric is a very fine, nearly translucent cotton.In excellent condition with 1 very minor fabric tear as seen in photo, does not go into embroidery, no stains, no repairs and the material is strong and skillfully done. Has not been washed. MEASUREMENT: 14-1/2" inside neck line edge full length, and 3-1/2" deep at center. Total measurements of fabric is 15" x 9". A lace collar truly worthy of one's collection.
