This is an original broadside which I believe was issued by the famous Fort William Henry Hotel on Lake George , New York . This broadside measures about 17âe x 22âe. The verso is completely blank except for a engraved vignette of the hotel above a caption that reads: Fort William Henry Hotel , Lake George , D. Gale Proprietor . The top side features a large map titled Route to Niagara Falls , Rapids of St. Lawrence, Montreal and Quebec , L. George & L. Champlain, Saratoga Ticonderoga and White Mountains along with a smaller inset map titled Lake George Lake Champlain and Vicinity . These maps occupy the top half of the broadside. The location of the Fort William Henry Hotel is shown on the map with a small building symbol supporting the notion that this was issued by the hotel. The map shows all the railroad lines and extensions serving the area including Vermont Central, New York Central, Hudson River RR and others. The bottom half of the broadside is all text describing the hotel, transportation links, travel times from New York, area attractions, please trips on Lake George aboard the Steamboat Minnehaha and lots more.
