Antique MUSEUM quality carving...XL 2 3/8" X 1 3/4" shell cameo brooch....BACCHANTE follower of Bacchus ...with grapes and vines in hair cascading down.....superb carving in realistic details. Beautiful old profile ...long nose...strong chin and pressed lips. Naturally domed shell...good color contrast. Heavy thick quality mount....tests low carat gold or very heavy gold filled(not plated)....no signs of wear. In pristine condition.
