You are bidding on these C. 1875-1925 beautiful set of Very Large Brass Bells on a leather strap from an Iowa Farm estate. The bells have not been cleaned and retain their original patina, there are no breaks or cracks in them. The sound they make is wonderful and true . I cannot find any numbers on them. The two larger bells measure about 6 1/2 inches in circumference and 2 3/4 inches at their widest point across; the 2 smaller ones are about 5 1/2 inches in circumference and 2 1/4 inches at their widest point across. The leather strap appears to be original but does have some aging flaws. There is a break in the strap on the top about half across the width and likewise on the bottom strap. I tried to show this in the pictures. This is the point where they were stressed the most across the top of the horse.Also, the small strap into the buckle is showing a lot of wear and is split at the first hole. The strap does not have any smell of mustiness or smoke. I remeasured the bells, the larger ones are closer to 8 1/4 inches in circumference and the smaller ones are closer to 7 inches in circumference.
