Up for bids is this vintage brass fireplace fire starter pot and pumice wand. It has the matching lid with it. It is a little tarnished on the inside. THe outside has some surface scratches on it. THe pot itself sits on 3 little legs. The pot measures 5" tall without the lid, with the lid it is 7" tall. It is 4 1/2" diameter. WIth the handle up it is 8 1/2" tall. The wand measures 9 1/2". It is a used item the pumice wand is stained dark. You use this to start fires with. You soak the wand in kerosine and then light the pumice end of the wand. Then you stick the wand in the fireplace with your kindling and it will light the fire. Be sure that the wand's fire is out before you place it back into the kerosine mixture in the pot. You have to supply the kerosine. The end of the wand is missing its brass end cap so I have put on a silver cap but I am sure you can find another in a hardware store. You can see the end cap in the 4th picture. THe pot has NO dings, NO cracks and is in good condition for its age. Purchased at a local estate sale.
