Up for auction is a Limoges cake plate which is real pretty and unusually designed. It is signed on the back by E. W. Bieg. The Artist, Elsie Bieg", who has signed the plate is an early Chicago Decorator and worked for the France Studio of Chicago....later opening her own Studio known as the "Humboldt Art Studio" which operated from 1916-28. The quality of Bieg work rivals the other great Chicago Studios and some of her work mirrors the great works from Pickard. The plate measures 11 1/8" from handle to handle. It is in wonderful condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. The gold gilt is in wonderful condition. If you have any questions, please e-mail before bidding. Thanks.
