Antique Lincoln Imp bookends. The Lincoln Imp is from the Angel Choir in the Lincoln Cathedral, Lincolnshire, England . They are made of a heavy metal, looks like brass. They are quite heavy, almost 7 pounds. They have a high relief depiction of the Lincoln Imp with Cathedral wall and a tray bottom with the inscribed LINCOLN IMP on front. The back is inscribed with the legend of how the imp came to be turned to stone in the cathedral, along with a number 50. They are in good condition for their age, I believe they are from the early 1900's, and have a nice patina but could be cleaned up to read the back inscription better. They measure to be about 7" tall, 7" high and about 2 1/2" deep. Please examine photos as they are an important part of the description. Thanks for your interest.
