For sale is a salesman’s display box containing United States lumber. It contains 48 samples of wood/lumber with a paper description of the identity of the wood, its scientific name, where it was harvested, the wood’s uses and qualities. The samples are in aged but very good shape and the display box itself is in decent condition for the age considering where it spent the last 90 or so years. I would reason that most of these sample boxes were used a kindling for starting a fire on a cold Maine winter night. I have researched this box online and can only find written info and brochures for the National Lumber Manufacturers Association all dated in the 1920’s. So I assume the box is of that vintage too. If you have any info let me know and I will post it. The box is approx. 7.75” wide by 11.25” long by 6” high. Wood samples are 5” by 2.25” and about ½ to 5/8” thick. The box is quite heavy and my shipping charge reflects that. "Buy It Now" or make your best offer! I have lowered the price to encourage a happy transaction!
