" Manor house interior from the Rahbek estate " Measurements : 15 ½ x 19 ½ inches without the frame. 20 x 24 inches with the frame. Description: Genuine oil on canvas. Signed Hans Hilsoe and titled Rahbeks Bakkehus. The work dates back to the late 19th century ( 1890-1910). The Rahbek bakkehus estate was the home of Knud and Kamma Rahbek, who were one of the most outstanding literary and cultural figures in Golden Age Denmark. Their home was a popular place which the great cultural personalities of the Danish Golden Age could meet and consort with each other. The home is today a museum and is surrounded by a public park and a private museum garden. Absolute outstanding interior! Masterly executed and filled with tiny details like the private art and furniture collection of Knud and Kamma Rahbek. A very rare piece. Museum quality!
