This is an antique mauchline tartan ware round pin cushion which measures 1 1/2 inches wide and dates to around the 1890's. The pin cushion is decorated in the "Stuart" tartan and this name is to be found in gold lettering on the rim. The condition is good with no splits or cracks to the tartan ware sides but there are signs of wear as is to be expected through age and use - some tiny surface scratches and nicks but nothing too serious. The blue plush pin cushion pad is worn in places and there are also a couple of tiny tears which I am sure the buyer can easily sort and nothing that detracts in any way. This lovely antique mauchline tartan ware pin cushion in the "Stuart" tartan would make an ideal gift or a great addition to any collection.
