Antique Mauchline Ware Needle CaseScottish * Circa 1880sThis Mauchline ware needle case is made of sycamore wood by the W. & A. Smith Co in Mauchline Scotland. One side has a scene titled "Grasmere, With Helm Crag In The Distance". Grasmere is in England's famous Lake District and was a favorite of William Wordsworth who lived here for 14 years and called it "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found".The condition is excellent without a ding and the varnish is perfect. It fits together snugly and measures 3 3/4" long.
