EXCEEDINGLY SCARCE, ORIGINAL 1891 EDITION OF "THE RECENT PRACTICAL IMPROVEMENTS IN GENERATING OZONE". This fascinating 19th century treatise was published by the Ozone Mfg. Co., New York. Informative monograph chronicles the properties and forms of ozone, experiments performed with this compelling chemical agent, and its many potential therapeutic applications in medicine. Concise tract documents virtually everything then known about this unstable gas. We could not find another obtainable copy of this uncommon tract, and WorldCat locates no other copies institutionally held. "The following pamphlet on ozone is compiled for the physician, but will also undoubtedly prove of interest to the chemist. The specific facts herein reviewed regarding the chemistry, physical properties and therapeutic indications of Ozone have been collected from a vast amount of literature upon the subject, covering a period of fifty years. The object of these few pages is to concisely indicate the use of Ozone and to prove the practicability of obtaining and keeping this subtle agent, and, as well, describe a number of new ways to utilize it reasonably in medicine, which heretofore has been impossible" [Preface].
