ANTIQUE MEIJI JAPANESE BAMBOO & PLATED BRASS TOBACCO SMOKING PIPE (KISERU) AND VINTAGE PIPE CASE (KISERUZUTSU) SET LOW MINIMUM PRICE, NO RESERVE! I am offering for sale one more item from my sagemono collection. Description: A very nice antique Japanese traditional smoking set consisting of a kiseruzutsu (pipe case) made of some early type of plastic, probably vinyl; black in color with a brown decoration showing a gnarled pine tree; very unusual for this type of material. It consists of two telescoping pieces, nicely fit. The thinner inside piece has a small oval hole on the end, probably by design (it’s very smooth and even); there is some sort of white fiber stuffing inside. The nice large kiseru (smoking pipe) has darkened with age metal parts; probably brass underneath plated with some white metal alloy; spotted polished and lacquered bamboo short stem. Est. age: kiseru : c. 1900-1910 / late Meiji Period; kiseruzutsu : c. 1930s-1950/ Shôwa Era. Dimensions (max.): kiseruzutsu : 190 x 30 x 18 mm (~7.5 x 1.2 x 0.75 in); weight ~28 grams (~1 oz); kiseru : 215 x 16 x 12 mm (~8.5 x 0.6 x 0.5 in); weight ~37 gr (~1.3 oz). Condition: good shape overall considering its age; some very to the surface; no visible damage or repairs. Purchased: from an antiques shop in Japan. Payment & Delivery Terms.
