Meissen Blue Onion Tureen with Lid and PlatterHere we have a large antique Meissen Blue Onion four quart tureen with lid and platter.This wonderful blue onion tureen was made in Germany by the Meissen porcelain factory.It has the beautiful blue onion pattern done with a deep blue on pristine white porcelain.This antique, {first}, tureen is marked with the Meissen crossed swords.Mark indicates years 1825-1924.The tureen has two small chips on the underside of the base upper lip and two larger chips. See pictures above. The lid is in excellent condition.The measurements are approx. 14" wide from end of handle to end of handle x 5-3/8" high for the bottom section and 10-3/8" high to the top of the lid finial when assembled. The platter measures approx. 19-1/8" long x 12-5/8" wide x 2-1/8" tall. It has the Meissen stamp. The platter also is in excellent condition.The crowning piece for the Blue Onion collection!
