Rare 19" Meriden silverplate ornate tray with engraving that reads, "The Seven Bachelors Oct 28, 1896". Good condition for age (some cut marks on top, lots of heavy gouges on the back (none detract). Heavy at 4 pounds! Uncleaned. I believe this is a piece that universities used in the presentation of Bachelor degrees. Handle where the Meriden stamp is located is slightly curved (perhaps from the stamping). Very cool piece that can still be used!
