Antique "Merit" straight razor. Marked "Merit" on the blade near the hinge. On the other side, it says, "Peter J Michels, Brooklyn N. Y., Made in Germany" Shows minor surface wear on the metal. The handle shows some stains and surface wear. In closed position it measures approx. 6 1/4".My razors are from collector's estates. I do remove surface soiling on the cases, but I do not restore, polish or sharpen the blades. That's not my area of expertise, so rather than damage the patina, I leave that to the future owner of the razor.
