Offered at auction, an unusual Antique Microscope Slide c. 1890s of an interesting botanical specimen, "Long. Sec. Fruit of Fig" by the mounting firm of Hornell, Jersey, UK. Recognized for the excellence of his Marine Biology slides, this slide is a good example of their mounting skills with other subjects. Slide is shown with an image taken from the actual slide, using crossed polarizers (Polariscope) with oblique lighting techniques.
