This brass candlestick dates from 1750 to 1770, and stands nine and a quarter inches high on a cast and spun-finished foot of five inches across it's maximum points. The stem has been cast in two separate sections, then joined to decrease weight and resultant taxation. You can see the general condition from the photos, and the petalled rim to the top is very slightly split is a couple of places, but nothing structural. The stem has been punched into position, and not screwed, and the original punch-mark in the centre is clear. It appears to be English, but it is very difficult to tell for sure. A nice Georgian candlestick at a genuinely low start-bid. Please ask for postage costs if bidding from outside the U.K. I have been asked for shipping costs to the U.S.A. and I have quoted £17.50 for Airmail.
