H Miller & Co Bicycle oil lamp. Very similar (same?) to a Rudge lamp of the same period, which sold for £329 in January 2011. This lamp has been maintained in good condition. There is a 'blob' of araldite on the top chimney hinge where it had come adrift. There is a hairline crack in the pink sliding side window. The magnifying front window surround is in copper and there are other parts in brass as can be seen in the photographs. The front window is perfectly clear, not misted as it appears in the picture. The top chimney hinges forward and the oil chamber slides out sideways. The decorative parallelogram is intact and properly sprung with a locking screw on the mounting bracket which has R d13637? stamped on it. ... [ (It would look nice with a 4mm brass clock winding key on a chain) as per the previously mentioned Rudge lamp. ] The untested oil chamber seems to have some sort of anti splash chamber inside, complete with the wick winding mechanism, (i think i have the original wick and packing out of the mounting bracket) Please study the detailed photographs as to the condition of this lamp as returns will NOT be accepted.
