Up for bid is an antique Mintons of England 2 piece master chamber pot, also called a combinette or slop bucket. It is hand painted with tiny rosebuds and is the pot that all of the individual chamber pots and wash water would have been emptied into for disposal. Originally it would have had a wicker handle attached to the knobs and a lid, as you can see I have suggested a couple of other uses for the piece as it is in great shape and is a real collector's piece. The pot itself measures 10 inches high and 10.5 inches wide (10.75 inches high with bowl). It is in very good condition for its age and shows some normal crazing, but there are no stains that I can see. There are some natural glaze defects and a couple of spots on the rim where the paint has chipped but the piece is in overall good condition with no cracks or chips visible; It is also quite heavy and weighs in at over 9 pounds. The base of the piece is marked with the Mintons stamp and the following symbols are stamped into the porcelain " I g 51 SI Mintons" . I may have read some of the symbols incorrectly (the g may be a 9, etc) but I do not know a lot about these pieces. Please email with any questions and for additional shipping options.
