This auction is for a wonderful antique 18" Miss Charming Doll - s Shirley Temple Look A Like - E.G. Doll Co. Composition Doll for restoration and she is lovely. I think she is from 1936 and she is marked on the back of her neck E.G. and she has tin sleep eyes that open and close - she has an open mouth with a row of pretty teeth - her composition arms and legs move - and she is wearing a nice yellow plaid dress from the 1930's. I don't know if this is the original dress that she came with but it is certainly a dress that she wore at that time. Right after I took these pictures she came apart - her elastic broke (or gave way) so she does need to be restrung in addition to a restoration. She is in 6 pieces. She has an incredibly precious face and she still has her original blonde mohair wig and the light blue orig. ribbons tied in her hair. (She most likely had a blue dress to match these pretty bows originally.) She has lots of rubs, marks, nicks, cracks, crazing, paint loss and paint chips, etc. and her eyelashes have yellowed with age - and it looks like someone tried to repair the cracks and chips on her ankles and feet. Even so she displays beautifully and she could be used as is or she could be restored to her former beauty.
