Antique IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit) Lo V (Low Voltage Control) subway car plate 5530. This car was one of of 125 cars built in the year 1925. These subway cars were built by the American Car & Foundry Company, Berwick Pennsylvania. All were retired from passenger car service in the 1960's. This sign plate 5552 measures 24"x 6 1/2". It is made of steel coated in enamel (porcelain??). Has mounting hole chips but otherwise in great shape for it's age! (See picture for condition). A great piece of NY history you can own.
