This is an exquisite little demitasse size hand painted antique Nippon cup and saucer set The cup has pink roses and other small flowers in a gold beaded medallion front and back, as does the saucer but side to side. The remaining surface is decorated with little pink roses and gilded leaves. Entire surface of the cup is decorated with gold and enamel beading with exception of the handle and the green and gold trimmed rim. The saucer has the same decoration with the exception of the same green and gold trimmed rim and white depressed center for the cup. The cup has a larger diameter at the bottom which tapers to a narrower diameter to the top. The cup stands just about 2 and 1/8" tall with top rim diameter measuring just about 1 and 3/4" across. Saucer measures just under 4 and 1/2" diameter. The set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, nicks, repairs etc.. There is some light gold wear to the gilded handle and some minor wear to some of the enamel and gold beading. The cup is stamped with the maple leaf Nippon mark (approx circa 1891 to 1921) and Hand Painted. PLEASE email for any further info or photo.
