Gorgeous antique Normandy lace bedspread. It measures 78" wide by 84.5" long. It is an ecru color - a little darker ecru than the pictures appear.The circular medallions are all embroidered by hand - all lace joining seams are hand stitched and in excellent condition. The beautiful rose patterned lace appears hand made under close inspection under high magnification as well as do several other floral bobbin laces. In addition to the bobbin laces, there are several finely machine embroidered laces on very fine netting backgrounds.The outer ruffles on three sides and outer panel at the pillow end of the spread are fine net lace which is machine embroidered with flower baskets. In these areas I find four small breaks in the netting - largest shown in picture 7. They could be mended by hand with a few stitches. The bedspread design is composed of circular medallions and several half medallions joined with the lovely rose bobbin lace, two other floral bobbin laces and other machine embroidered laces on fine netting. There are two or three old re-weave mends which are quite unnoticeable. I find one small dot dark spot about the size of a pepper corn.
