Christ The Sacred Heart. Religious Antique Oil Painting.Original oil painting on canvas board attributed to Martin Von Feuerstein. Very old, with details written on the back. Fair Condition.Writing on back In Latin: Cor Jesu Misericordiae thronus miserere Nobis Feuerstein pinxit anna Domini 1898 Munchen (Deutschland) Roughly translated as: Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us, throne of mercy (?). Feuerstein Painted in the year of our lord 1898 Munich Germany. In English, handwritten script, "This Certifies that this picture is a genuine oil painting with the (?) lines hand drawn and painted with the (?) best oil and colors(?) and canvas. Signed (?) Possible signature in the lower left corner of the painting has been rubbed but a signature is evident. Not sure if it matches the one on back or Martin Von Feuerstein’s.Included is a cursory appraisal by from photos only. See Pic #3. The appraisal says, "This painting appears to have been scrubbed -i.e. massively over-cleaned. The paint is desperately thin in places. I am inclined to interpret it as a copy (the composition by Feuerstein in known) - The painting of the drapery is far inferior to Feuerstein's skills and technique. The painting of the halo is crude.
