Pair of antique Hitchcock chairs with original rush seats. One chair is the "Captain's" chair or the chair for the head of household as it has arms--15.5 inches long. Both are 34 inches tall from the floor to top of chair back and about 18 inches from floor to seat. Seat on Captain's chair is 16.5 inches wide at the back and 19 inches wide at the front and 16 inches long. Other chair seat measures 14.5 inches wide at the back and 17 inches wide at the front and 15.25 inches long. Both chairs are in great condition considering their age. The back of Captain's chair has crack at the very top in the back on the thick part--still extremely sturdy--see picture. There are also cracks on the very bottom (round) underneath where the arms are braced on each side--see picture. Notch on one arm. Other chair has a spindle joining legs that was cracked and repaired--excellent repair job, almost missed it--see picture. General distress to finish due to age--no deep gouges or scratches. To the best of our knowledge, these chairs were never refinished. Thanks for looking. Local pickup of chairs is offered. Please email with questions.
