Beautiful, French, carved and pierced mother of pearl thread winder in the form of a snow flake. This winder was originally in a Palais Royal sewing box. An example of this type of winder can be seen in Nerylla Taunton's book Antique Needlework Tools and Embroideries, on page 47 (plate no 44). Circa 1820. This winder is in very good condition for age, with no chips or cracks to the pearl. This winder has been in a drawer for many years and could use a cleaning.
