Antique A.H. Patch Blackhawk Corn Sheller 1903A Antique A.H. Patch Blackhawk Corn Sheller 1903A in very good operating condition. Own a piece of our country's agricultural history! Asahel Huntington Patch (November 18, 1825 - January 29, 1909) was an inventor and manufacturer from Hamilton, Massachusets. He patented his first pole-mounted corn sheller in 1872 and it was featured in Scientific American Magazine. His corn sheller was given the "highest award of the World's Fair" at the 1893 Columbian World's Fair in Chicago for ingenuity. One of the major themes of the Chicago World's Fair was that of the value of corn as a crop and dietary staple. Mr. Patch moved to Louisville, Kentucky and later to Clarksville, Tennessee where he invented other box shellers, the most famous being this one, the Blackhawk. It became one of the best sellers of agricultural equipment around the world. - Courtesy Wikipedia See my other listings for more great items!
