This auction is for a beautiful ANTIQUE PENCIL SIGNED PRINT PAIR OF BORZOI by SMIRINOFF. The actual title is "Pair of Aces" and is also hand written in the margin lower left. Measuring 15" x 13" in the frame, this is so well done and realistic that it seems they could leap right out of the frame. The framing was done fairly recently per the backing it was professionally framed and matted in1984 - but the print is much much older. It is from an estate and we do not have a date or place of origin. The artist is "Smirinoff" which is a Russian name, and of course the Borzoi is also known as the Russian Wolf Hound, so it is possible that this piece may originally have come from Russia. Regardless of w it came from, the artist has done a masterful job in showing the graceful heads and alert personality of this beautiful breed.
