Welcome ! Up for auction is this lovely old butter mold. Particulars: Wood is walnut with the warm patina of use and care. Size: overall 4 1/2" tall, plunger to face plate, bell size:3" tall, 4"diameter, pattern face 3 1/8" Condition : T is an age crack in the side which ends before the top ring and two age cracks on the top flat surface of the bell. The plunger handle has a rough spot on top, the pattern face has some tiny age hairlines, the bell base rim has a rough spot. The construction is still sound and the mold can still be used for it's original purpose.( I try to mention EVERYTHING I see so t are no surprises for you ! ). As you can see from the pictures the mold is beautiful, well made with a carefully and artistically carved face. This auction is for the lower 48 states .
