Antique Perfecscope Stereo-viewer 51 View Cards 3 Series, Baby Children, Wedding, Cheating, etc..... The Stereo viewer measure a total of 12 1/2" long. Marked on the back: The Perfecscope Trade Mark U.S. Patent October 15th 1895, June 3rd 1902, FEBY11896 Canada France Germany Great Britain Austria Belgium No. 53803. On the top is a medallion that reads: Exposition Universelle International 1900. Aluminum metal viewer with engraved decoration across the top of the eye piece. Two glass lenses. Wooden slide card holder with wire hoops. Wooden folding handle. Around the eye piece is a red velvet fabric band. The band is a bit frayed and loose in some spots. Could be easily repaired. The stereo view cards are of a Wedding, Courtship, Cheating, Americana Humor, Wimsey, Love and Comedy.There is a card series of 11 cards of a man cheating on his wife with the kitchen maid. It starts with the husband and cook in the kitchen as he say's:"Housekeeping begins with a naive french cook. She's a Dandy thought the husband when he took a look". "French cooks are the dearest one can hire but they're the kind I thoroughly admire" The series goes on: "Ah Ha I see why I am forbidden in the kitchen, it's because the cook is so bewitchin". He's a very dapper looking man and she is rolling out dough with a giant wooden rolling pin and wooden dough bowl. read more
