This is a handwoven 100% wool rug. It was made in Iran about 35 years ago. The colors are bright and t is no damage to the rug. The pile is even without any thin spots.The exact measurements are: 12' 8" Long X 9' 6" WideI bought this rug 2 years ago for over $1200.00. My wife and I used it in our sitting room to basically cover a worn hardwood floor. We sent the rug out to have it professionally cleaned 3 months ago and, while it was gone, my wife decided to have the floor redone. The floor looks beautiful but we don't need the rug now and I have now to store such a large rug.I am not a rug seller or rug expert. We just thought the rug was beautiful and bought it. If you need a "room filling" rug with character... this is it! A word to novice rug buyers (like us): This rug is 100% wool. It is VERY heavy! It will have to be professionally cleaned occasionally by someone who knows what they are doing. We had to send it to Atlanta, GA to be cleaned because t is nobody in Nashville, TN who cleans handmade rugs this large. It cost $165.00 to have it cleaned. You are not buying a rug from Wal-Mart! This is a work of (usable) art and you won't see the same thing in your neighbor's house.My 2.0 megapixel camera doesn't do the rug justice! it is bright and beautiful! You will NOT be disappointed!
