ITEM: Antique sepia toned photograph of a deformed hydrocephalus young man in a wheelchair with his family on the porch of their home. The young man appears to be well cared for and loved by his caretakers WHEN MADE: Late 1800s SIZE: The photo measures approximately 7" x 5" and is mounted on a 10" x 8" card CONDITION: Free of rips, tears or bends with some light discoloration from age. Please note that any light spots in the pictures are from my lighting and not actually on this piece. Please see photos for condition. DESCRIPTION: The back of the card is marked Wm Scoles, Orvay Scoles, Grandma Lizzie Melizza. This is a very unusual photo of a young man with Hydrocephalus. He looks like he may be in his early 20s and the photo shows he was loved and well cared for with home care, which was unusual for the time.
