OWN A PIECE OF AMERICA’S PAST WITHTHIS GORGEOUS ANTIQUE PIANO/ORGAN/HARP STOOL Excellent condition! Stunning antique carved “Claw & Ball” style wooden stool. Proudly display this decorative piece of history in your home or office. Manufacturer is “Tonk” circa 1890’s to early 1900’s. · Ornately carved wooden legs, ending with embellished old brass metal claw feet that grasp clear glass ball · Metal is carved to appear as if made of birds’ legs, or perhaps scales · Decorative incised band around seat · Ornate center column · Seat in excellent condition, minor scratches only visible from certain angles · Beautiful mahogany finish (I don’t know if the finish is original or not) · Fully functional, smooth rotating swivel seat raises and lowers by turn-screw mechanism · Very sturdy and swivels well · Glass balls are round and intact; one is slightly chipped, others have only minor scratches · Legs in perfect condition, although I glued one of them back into its groove · Measures approximately 19” tall in the lowest position and adjusts up about 8 inches. Seat is 14" X 14" round Due to its age, some minor flaws exist which only adds to its authentic beauty. The manufacturer’s name on metal plate attached to the bottom of the seat says “Tonk Chicago New York Piano.” It weighs approximately 16 pounds unpacked.
