YELLOW-WARE POTTERY MUG ~ C1840-1860 The shapely yellow-ware pottery brown checked creamer featured measures 2.5 inches across the opening and stands 4 inches high. The creamer is a rich yellow pottery with brown checks circling the lower base. The spout is pinched. Utilitarian pottery wares of this type were made throughout the 18th and 19th century centuries in England and America to meet the household needs of the growing middle class. These wares included plates, bowls, cups, jars, pitchers, molds, mugs, coffee and teapots. The creamer is of English, German orCzech origin and dates to the center of the 19th century. It is absolutely an antique piece and not reproduction. T are no cracks although t are minor rough spots at the rim as well as discoloration on it as you can see in the photos.
