Thanks for checking us out! No baloney I even sell under my own name! It has to be refreshing to see clear images, accurate descriptions & condition reports, even with a money back guarantee(less the cost to return it to me if mis-represented). Great 19th C. "Signal Service Barometer or Storm Glass and Thermometer combined", made & marked by "J.A. Pool Manufacturer Oswego, NY." Oblong molded edge mahogany frame enclosing a glass thermometer mounted on an engraved brass plaque with the maker's mark and scale gradations. The opposing side has a vial filled with a light tan colored fluid affixed with 2-metal bands. Both are centering a metal scale "Stormy", "Change", "Fair." The reverse has a wonderful and original paper label with detailed directions and explanations. The original cost was $2.00! A tidy sum in those days.Condition and appearance is great. Could use some dusting. The vials are not broken and retain their liquid(thermometer liquid has seperated). The storm glass liquid has coagulated somewhat, but still flows freely. On the back, a portion of the wood has given way over time at the screw eye area. Not a fresh break. Height 9 in., width 3 1/4 in., depth 11/16 in. Priority Mail w/ Tracking. Optional Insurance in USA: Up to $50.00 - $1.35. $50-$100 - $2.30. $100 - $5,000 - $2.30 plus $1.05 for each additional $100 value.
