ANTIQUE NEW HAVEN SCHOOL HOUSE CLOCK First of all I will not pretend to be an expert at antique clocks so this description should tell it all but please ask more if perhaps I donâe(tm)t tell the whole story This clock I was told from the clock service company that I had clean and adjust this is from around the post civil war of about 1870 to 1890âe(tm)s, I found no date inside. The clock runs well and gongs on the hour. It is about 28 ½ inches tall, 17 inches wide at the top and 9 ¼ inches wide at the bottom box. I think the wood is walnut. With this being over 120 years old and never been restored I would say itâe(tm)s in remarkable condition. The face is original painted and it was recommended to leave it as is so I did. The brass ring that holds the glass has three stress hairlines in the metal from age I assume but does not effect the integrity of the ring. T are 3 wood pins holding the clock face cabinet to the back. Some checking of varnish on one ear and 100 year old marks will be found. I have owned the clock since 1964 and purchased
