The style and construction of this pressed eagle has me convinced that it is at least a ninteenth century or older piece.The expression on the eagles face is certainly similar to the earlier eagles I've seen listed over the past few months.The tin backing was probably added for stregnth and the way the eagles edge is bent around said tin also appears to be an older style of manufaturing.T are no markings that I can find.Measures about 27" long x 8" tall.Feels a bit oily about the back but I dont want to clean it for fear of ruining original patina so will leave cleaning to you.Found in a barn sale in Connecticut but seller did not know history.Just said it's been around for ever.Winner add 10.00 sh..
