This is a very rare primitive spinning wheel that I was told is for making hemp rope. It is 9 and 1/2 ft long and the wheel is 24 inches dia. It has a wood cart on wheels that runs back and forth. I'm not sure just how it works and is probably missing some parts.It is pegged together and very well built. The metal crank on the wheel is blacksmith made. If anyone knows more about this please let me know. It is possible that I can ship this but it can be picked up in Stanford Ky. which is about 45 miles south of Lexington on highway 27.
