Antique Primitive Jointers Mallet Hammer Carpenter Wood Joiners Vtg Farm 1800sThe photos show the ACTUAL item offered and should be used to help assess the condition.Offered is an antique primitive woodworkers / carpenters / jointers mallet, as pictured.Weighing about 1-1/2 pounds, this fine display piece measures about 14-7/8" overall (including the handle) and is believed to be circa mid to latter 1800's era.Well constructed, with straight grain hardwood head and handle. The tapered side, arch top head measures about 6" long x 2-3/8" wide x 2-5/8" tall and is fitted with a typical of the era through head style handle. The mallet is in very decent condition; both striking faces are in good shape (do show use), no cracks or repairs (see photos).Overall finish is uniform and displays a superb warm glow that can only be acquired with age.Handle is excellent and appears to be correct and original to the tool.An unusual piece; probably not truly rare, but certainly qualified as scarce in this very decent condition and is appreciably nicer than most similar mallets I have seen listed on this site.Suitable for use or display and worthy of your consideration, I am confident the buyer will not be disappointed with the purchase.Item is warranted to be as described and sells with no reserve.- COPYRIGHT NOTICE -All content seen here, including: read more
