Antique Primitive MiniaturePlunger Type Butter Mold Stylized Tulip For Your Antique Butter Mold Collection Details Description: A beautiful antique small or miniature wooden butter mold. This plunger type mold has an engraving of a stylized tulip. The wooden case of the mold is undecorated and has a raised platform where the plunger goes in. The entire piece is made of lathe-turned hardwood. Please view photos carefully as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Early to mid 1900s Origin: Purchased in an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania Size: Measures ~1 9/16" in diameter and is about 2 7/8" in height, when fully extended. The print is ~1 1/4" in diameter. Maker: Unknown. Marks: Unmarked. Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Very interesting old butter mold with a nice and a new twist on a common design. Condition: The piece is in good condition given its age and utilitarian function. It has no breaks or repairs. It does have a crack along the side of the print piece itself, which can be seen in the last photo. It also has general wear commensurate with its age and use.
