For auction is a pair of antique primitive sewing notions. One handmade primitive pincushion and thread holder. This is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of sewing history--each peg appears to be hand carved and the wheels hand-cut. I've never seen an antique thread holder quite like this one! It even comes with the original dust as it is in "as found" condition, no cleaning has been done to this piece. There are old pins in the cushion and three wooden thread bobbins. It measures: 9-1/2" tall and is 4-1/2" in diam. The other pin cushion is also handmade, late Victorian period. The base is a EAPG footed bowl, 2-[ice mold, notice the bubbles in the THICK glass base. Classic gold and black and taupe material with black fringe. This pin cushion has obviously been well used over the decades as most of the fringe is tattered or missing. It measures 7-1/4" tall and is 6-1/2" in diam. Both pieces come from the estate of an elderly New Hampshire woman who collected antique sewing notions.
