beautiful early hand painted tin tole tray, Connecticut estate find. this is a tin tole tray with a center seam. the sides are cut to make the octagon shape and are then rolled. the earliest were done with two sheets, because that is how they came, hence, the center seam. the tray is painted in flat paint, the center is black, then green, and the edge is a mustard yellow. the decorations are in a red and green, on a ivory color stripe, with red half moons on each corner. please note all is outlined in the yellow paint. all very well done in free hand. very neat and clean. tray is solid and sturdy. tray shows antique wear and paint loss. back of tray is a shiny black. please see photos. tray measures 17 1/8 inches across by 11 7/8, and is about 1 1/8 inches deep. A really nice old New England tray. please email me with any questions. thank you.
