Offered for sale is a really great and unique bench. This was used on a train platform, in the back country of New England in the last quarter of the 19th century. This bench would have been placed in middle of the platform, and depending on which way the train would be approaching, the back of the bench would be moved to accomodate the oncoming train. The arms of the bench are metal, and the back of the bench is affixed to the arm with metal arms, that rotate. Fully functioning even today! Black paint not original, I would say it was most likely painted within the past 20 years. Made of pine. Very secure. Measures: 7' x 32" high Local Pick up. We have the name of a shipper that operates up and downt he east coast. Please inquire.
